Unique carton flow rack application stretches design and engineering concepts to lift fitness equipment manufacturer to optimum productivity.
Ok, we’ll stop there with the puns, we promise… but, seriously take a look at this unconventional, yet highly effective, carton flow rack system design.
Store and organize numerous SKUs to ensure accurate, efficient piece picking on the assembly lines. With similar looking parts, just one wrong pick can slow down assembly production.
- Dyna-Flo HD carton flow
- 120” x 42” deep
- 1.9″ polypropylene staggered wheel
- 2” wheel centers
This unique application was designed to accommodate a variety of raw materials & replacement parts for a fitness equipment manufacturer. While it’s not often you see carton flow rack installed above hand-picking height, this system extends several levels higher. Cartons or parts are picked by hand to a pallet jack from lower levels and accessed via an order picker at the higher elevations, ensuring optimal use of space and labor.
You may also notice that the application is designed to be loaded and picked from a single aisle vs. traditional carton flow which is loaded from the one aisle (the charge side) and unloaded from the opposite aisle (the discharge/pick side). The advantages of carton flow in this set-up vs static rack or shelving is automatic pick face replenishment and easier more ergonomic access to heavier inventory.
Why Carton Flow?
Carton flow is the perfect application for carton, case or each-picking fulfillment. Dyna-Flo HD is the heavy-duty carton flow application of choice for customers with a wide variety of inventory weighs and sizes. Dyna-Flo HD has a 50 lb. sq. ft. capacity per 8 ft. unsupported length, plus durable wheel and axel assembly to handle day to day activities in busy production facilities.
It is available in 12″-16″ sections that quickly and easily drop into existing pallet rack. Dyna-Flo HD carton flow is also manufactured with higher side rails to eliminate the need for an interior support beam. That design also adds to shelf capacity and creates additional vertical clearance between shelf beams.
