Mallard Mobile Carton Flow Using Cart-Trak
Production shifts and assembly change-overs can be an output efficiency challenge for manufacturers. Recently, a premier truck and engine manufacturer was looking for a new flexible small parts flow system to accommodate this need… thankfully the Mallard Carton Flow Work Cell filled that need. The work cells for this customer were fitted with Cart-Trak carton flow rails for heavy duty, abuse resistant, FIFO inventory movement. The cart-trak rails provide full-carton coverage for the cartons and totes and could handle the weight and load/pick frequency for this customer’s product demand.
The mobile work cells are designed for ergonomic, efficient and accurate picking. We designed them so they can be moved where and when they’re needed for organized parts assembly set-up, short run manufacturing, light assembly and small parts packaging, but the mobile cart isn’t just where you want it when you want it… shelf heights are also easily adjustable to accommodate frequent SKU changes making it infinitely flexible.

The mobile carts can be fitted with an additional steel-framed tow assembly to allow forklift operators to quickly transport work cells where needed vs. manually pushing the wheeled carts from station to station. Several work cells can be linked and moved to respective assembly or pick stations at one time via the tow assembly.
