It’s often the little things, or the finer details, that make the biggest impact.  That’s certainly the case with Mallard gravity conveyor systems, where we made a good thing… even better.  It’s how we approach all of our solutions.  We listen to our customers’ needs and work with our design team to develop enhancements that make the difference.   Here are a few core benefits and some Mallard extras that have helped make gravity conveyor a true staple across distribution and manufacturing operations.Gravity Conveyor Mallard Manufacturing

Gravity conveyor is the most simple, affordable and reliable way to move materials from one point to another.  You’ll see its rollers at work in case-pick modules, staging areas, assembly lines and loading docks; quickly getting materials where they need to be.  Non-powered gravity sections can be positioned flat for push-assisted applications or minimally sloped to flow with gravity.

Gravity Flow Applications

  • Order picking/pick modules
  • Assembly
  • Shipping
  • Manufacturing/staging
  • Truck loading/unloading trucks

Constructed of high quality, heavy gauge galvanized steel, Mallard’s gravity conveyor can be retrofitted into existing pick lines, case-pick modules, or used as stand-alone or temporary units. Conveyor sections are available in a variety of lengths, widths and rail heights to meet your specifications.  Our heavy duty rollers are constructed to support a variety of load requirements and utilize permanently lubricated ball bearings to maximize life and minimize jams.

Gravity conveyor roll-over frameCustomer Concern Triggers New Design

Traditional gravity flow frame rails had sharper straight edges which could catch the order selector’s hands, clothing or cartons. As result, pickers used caution to avoid these edges while loading the conveyor line. Mallard quickly responded by creating a roll-over frame rail with a smooth, rounded surface. Not only were the sharp edges removed, but the new design also protected the rollers from impact and debris, with little to no added cost to the system.

It’s a little thing that made a big difference for order selectors… and  also improved productivity.

More Gravity Conveyor Advantages

  • Minimal Investment – relies solely on gravity, no need for expensive motors
  • All Galvanized- clean, heavy duty and food safe
  • Low Maintenance – Rollers do not collect debris, preventing hang-ups
  • Versatile –  A wide variety of roller widths, lengths and heights allows full customization
  • Flexible – Used for a large number of material handling applications
