Just look behind the bar at any restaurant, pub or bar – where once stood just a couple iconic draft brands, now dawns an array of trendy, full-flavored and often unfamiliar specialty brews. Beer drinkers wanted variety and craft brewers delivered with more than 13 million barrels produced in the US in 2012, up more than 70% since 2006.
While the microbrew trend continues to accelerate, beer wholesalers and distributors face a tough challenge; how to accommodate these ever-growing number of SKUs in multi-sized kegs, while maintaining pick rates and productivity goals. Mallard Keg Flow Storage is the solution.
Mallard’s gravity fed keg flow racking provides greater density, (up to 8 kegs deep and 8 wide per 96″ bay), and increased pick faces for maximum storage efficiency and easy order put-way and retrieval. Each lane can store a unique SKU for full system selectivity. Keg flow can be used in push-back mode for First-In/Last-Out (FILO) applications or in traditional gravity flow mode for First-In/First-Out (FIFO) applications; kegs are loaded from one aisle and picked from the opposite side. A second beam is added to the front of the system and used as a stop.
Keg Flow Advantages:
- Greater Storage Density
- More Efficient Picking
- Ideal for either FILO or FIFO applications
- Can pick/load from either side of the rack
- Unmatched robust construction
- Accommodates kegs of all sizes
